Stuff you’ll need:
- 1 lb (or so) smoked turkey breast meat (or 2-3 large chicken breasts)
- 1 – 6 oz. box HyVee long grain & wild rice w/herb seasoning
- 2 – 32 ox. boxes Swanson chicken broth
- 1 can stems & pieces mushrooms
- 1 small onionĂ‚ – diced (dried onion will also do)
- 1 clove garlic – minced (dried will do)
- Lawry’s Season Salt – to taste
- Tones Canadian Steak Seasoning – to taste
- 3 stalks celery – sliced
- 3 large carrots – sliced
Stuff you’ll need to do:
- In a sauce pan, cook wild rice per directions on the box (25 min w/ 1 TBS butter) but substitute chicken broth (2.5 c) in place of the water.
- Slice veggies and meat and combine remaining ingredients in stock pot.Ă‚ Add rice to pot once it has finished cooking.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes….and you’re done.
